What does Care mean?

It’s a big and incredibly important word when you have someone who needs a little more care than others. Or if you’re in a position to need a little more care than usual.

The dictionary defines care as “the provision of what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance, and protection of someone or something.”

At Greater Support, we go beyond “necessary”. Necessary is the baseline. We want to keep you or your loved one safe. That’s the starting point. From there, we aim to add happiness, security, certainty, confidence, and whatever else you want to add to your life.

We understand that “care” looks different for everyone, so we tailor our services to meet you, your goals, your likes and dislikes and your personality.

Some days, it might mean you’re showered, dressed and ready to face the world. On other days, it might mean we work together to clean and organise your home. Other days might be shopping, cooking and ensuring you’re well fed. It could mean taking you to appointments, movies, or your favourite place for fun. It could mean sitting and listening, playing a game, helping with study, or a chore.

Care is personal. It’s different for each of us. It can also be different every day.

At Greater Support, the company and our support workers share one common trait. We all care. We all want the best for you, whatever that is today, tomorrow and every day after that.

We'd love to chat if you would like to discuss your care needs.
